Consultation

A 45 minute complimentary consultation providing a casual opportunity to review results of testing documents, hear about your child’s journey so far, and build rapport with your child. The goal of this session is to get an idea of whether Beyond Tutoring offers the right services for your child’s needs.

Initial Screening

The first 2 sessions will focus on the WADE (Wilson Assessment of Decoding and Encoding) with your child to give a solid baseline of their skill level. This is not a diagnostic screening, but a tool to determine where to begin in the program with your child.

1:1 In-Person Tutoring

This approach involves the student and tutor engaging in a minimum of two 50 minute sessions per week. Sessions will cover drills, concept review, reading and writing practice, and the introduction of new concepts. The input of a child’s parents and teachers is highly valued and collaboration is highly encouraged for the greatest results.

Through this collaborative approach, the tutor and parent work hand in hand with the student through their learning journey. Each month, students and their caregivers attend two 20-30 minute sessions either online or in person. Following every session, caregivers are provided with home practice resources and will spend up to 20 minutes each day practicing skills directly linked to the concepts taught. This empowering method of working provides an opportunity for parents to be truly involved in their child's progress and to learn for themselves the best ways to support their child's continued learning.
